Wightwick Manor Trip

So what's on at Wightwick Manor?  The National Trust welcomed us the the Manor with open arms. Lutt EG had come to see the Nicola Jarvis Exhibition. The items were well displayed and good to see them in a relevant context of the Manor.  In the Manor itself was "The Forest" Tapestry by Philip Webb on loan from the V & A on view before its visit on loan to Japan.

Wightwick Manor itself was the home of the Mander family who made their fortune in paint and varnishing industry of Wolverhampton. The interior is much influenced by William Morris although he had never visited the property himself. The family collected William Morris furnishings and Pre-Raphaelite paintings. The Gardens themselves are beautiful wide lawns, yew hedges and roses.

Committee and Friends hard at work in Church Basement

Never let it be said that Committee and Friends do not work behind the scenes when not at meetings!  Here we are painting the display boards in preparation for the Feast Week Exhibition!  Bless 'um!
