Pauline Bloomfield

Pauline has taught printed and embroidered textiles in variety of settings over the last 20 years. The imagery within her embroideries is inspired by Southern African rock paintings, West African symbolism and the work of Gustav Klimt. The themes have always been narrative; the most recent of which have been ancient African myths and the Caribbean spiritual world.
Pauline delivered a really interesting talk which she illustrated with slides, amazing sketchbooks and amazing work.  It was fascinating to see how her work developed and to see how much work goes into each piece.
